Underneath the bitter snow, in the spring comes a promise...

This is part of a hymn we sung this morning. After Easter dinner, I walked out into the snow covered backyard to find that the witch hazel bush was in full glorious bloom! This is what it looked like. After living in the great white north and living with all the dark grey days since last fall, seeing the witch hazel blooming sprang hope in my soul that warmer days are ahead. Warmer, sunny days in the natural and also in the spiritual. It has been a dark wintrey night of the soul. Praise God there is always a day to the night, a spring to the fall, Christ has risen indeed!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Good comment and uplifting, since I also live in what must be the North Pole of central PA known as the Laurel Highlands -- that "V" you always see on the weather map -- I have been checking the progress of our spring flowers -- daffodils are up about 2 to 3 inches and other stuff is starting -- a great time of year and a reminder message from nature of the hope and glory of resurrection -- praise God for a living Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ!

Christ has risen indeed! He is the reason for our hope, our reason for life itself!
